  Thank you 'a watcher' for your comment - please read my post to the other apologist who posted on this thread. You should actually admit that you have no idea about how to make the Sisters happy and stop regurgitating the hollow words you are taught at the KH.

  I am afraid I would have to take issue with your claim that Jehovah is more loving and reasonable than people given his track record in the OT of petty jealousy, cruelty, vindictiveness and mass murder.

  I suspect for most Sisters the social aspect of belonging to the organisation is what keeps them in the organisation but it is the organisation (that claims to be Jehovah's mouthpiece) that keeps them unhappy by constantly making them feel inadequate, guilty and lacking in self-esteem.

  The INTJ Personality Type, (and those close to it)

  i am compelled to write a bit about this at this late hour here in the us, because it is keeping me up.. the recent four year old thread on the briggs myers personality type test that was dug up, produced an interesting finding.

  many here, (at least tested informally for), the intj personality type.

  intjs also do not understand irrational behavior particularly well at all.. why does this matter?

  88JM - I think that is similar to my point about self-selection onto JWN but I am not sure it is limited to INTJs, although the suggestion introverts may be more attracted to public internet forums may have some validity.

  d4g - I think we agree then - my theory as elaborated above is that there is a degree of self-selection that causes NT types to more readily become apostates and also to find the JWN environment stimulating.

  d4g - I am not sure I understand your point. I saw a lot of Ns in the Myers Brigg thread and a lot of NTs in particular and suggested that it is not surprising that NTs are Apostates as they can see through the WBTS BS and to take the point further it is not surprising that NTs predominate on JWN because JWN is a place for rational discourse and argument and NTs love rational discourse and argument. Other personality types may well be put off by the tone of some of the arguments on JWN. I am not sure that the fact there is also more INTJs than in the general population is of any greater significance than the prevalence of NTs. Also I woudl reiterate that Myers Brigg is not scientific and while it makes some intuitive sense I would be careful about taking the exact characteristics described as a complete description of everyone who has the same profile and drawing firm conclusions from that, otherwise it starts to become a bit like a horoscope.   in australia, disfellowshipped and dissasociated are planning on suing jw for emotional and mental hardship for being cast out completely.

  Oh what horrible persecution that the WBTS could get sued for causing psychological harm by d'fing and shunning people and that they may have to put aside prejudice and perform gay marriages. So shocking! Poor Possums!

  Where do these guys get off! This mentality is sooo f##ked up. But the r&f will lap it up. Them playing the victim makes me so angry.

  Hi Brian - I see you have been lurking for 4 years and this is the first time you have had the courage to post. So well done and a belated welcome!

  But please don't just parrot what the organisation tells you to think and say - start thinking for yourself.

  Look around the congregation and observe the women - try and look behind the happy mask and see how things really are for them. Women have no status and no authority in the organisation (though elders wives try to do so through their husbands). They are second class citizens and those like my wife who have UBMs are lower still. As for psychological damage the organisation has caused my wife - it is palpable - low self-esteem, depression and anxiety. I believe that women may be more susceptible to the guilt and shame that the WBTS peddles as its stock in trade.

  I spend a lot of time trying to help my wife with her self-esteem that has been so badly damaged by growing up in the oppressive environment you know of as 'The Truth'.

  Get out of denial and open your mind and maybe you might even start to see clearly for the first time in your life. Good luck
